The theme of India’s BRICS Chairmanship will be Building Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutions.
We invite designs for a Logo for use during India’s Chairmanship of BRICS in 2016. The Logo should be able to highlight various aspects of India’s BRICS Chairmanship as well as strengths and characteristics of BRICS.
INSIGHT
In India, Guests are considered as God, and this belief originates from a well-known Sanskrit verse “Atithi Devo Bhava”. The worldwide popular Indian Salutation-Namaste is widely used across India as a gesture of welcoming & respecting guests on their arrival and for worshipping God.
The logo takes the shape: Since India is the host of the 8th BRICS summit, the BRICS’ member nations i.e. Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa are its guests, and the Indian Bureaucrats will welcome their respective leaders. Thus, we incorporated the Indian salutation 'Namaste' in the centre of the logo. The ultimate goal of BRICS summit is united prosperity of the member nations in various fields. Thus, we chose five-petalled Lotus as the overall logo. Lotus is the National Flower of India, and it signifies unity along with prosperity.

The colours used in the logo symbolizes each country,
Russia in BLUE | South Africa in YELLOW | India in SAFFRON | Brazil in GREEN | China in RED
